Body Image

I'm really freaked out. It's one in the morning, I just took a shower, and I finally got around to putting on my eczema cream. Since I'm wearing an unpractical-for-winter nightgown, I can see nearly my entire body while I'm putting it on.

It's spread. It's all over - not just my hands, my arms, my legs, my thighs - these big red splotches. I just don't get why this is happening. Ever since I started with this cream that stops it on my hands, it's spread. And right now my legs, I just noticed, are purple. It's like my body is decomposing before my very eyes.
I guess I'll see what happens in the morning ...

Emotional Exhaustion built on a Physically Sick body

First week back in school ... It really has been a whirlwind. Ups and downs, good grades, 70's, and a rejected paper. I still can get over the latter ...
The dancing thing can't work. It just can't - there's no time! Sundays are to relax, and I already have Bio labs and piano lessons. The rest of the week is either colonized by Chesed - though I could let off one day - and Erev Shira practice.
I'm just really gone right now. Got two debates coming up in two different classes arguing relatively the same point from two different sides. So weird!
Could you all just comment? Eli, you most of all, since you're too aloof to have a blog of your own!!

I'm BA-ACK!

Hello again! I have missed you all so much. Thanks so much, Tess.
Well, got back yesterday. I gotta say, Ernest, you do know how to treat a sled!
The warmer part was unbelievable. It was an odd experience ... I always thought that once you see a movie, you're at the mercy of the producers as to whether or not they'll make a sequel for you to relish. But it's not like that. There's a continuing story, a subplot, and you actually get to be a part of the story. I never knew Star Wars could be interrupted by a Tour, or that Biff might steal a time machine ... or that you could actually get to ride a roller coaster while listening to rock n' roll. It was pretty amazing.
Kept thinking of the bunch of you at every corner. Wish you could've been there.

The Glory of Vocal Chords

There are a couple of girls in school a grade below me who I really only met last Purim, when I was dressed up as the Angel of the Night. They started calling me all kinds of different angel stuff, like the Devil, and I didn't like it, so they finally came up with the Angel of Death: they lead people to the Next World. So I said okay, and now they always call me that. It's fun! So anyhow, the last day of finals I was in the library with a few friends with my notes open but not really studying, and we all started singing. It was mostly pop and alternative - my friend snuck in some Jewish songs from choir - and when we stopped to talk, those two girls kept telling us - me - to keep singing, because I had such a good voice. Just kept saying that, every time we stopped to talk or study. I'm really getting more confident at this!
Too bad it comes from other people's approval.

To Have Nothing to Do At Last

At long last ... the point that means I only have a year and a half left until entering the real world. Going to Disney on Sunday! I can't wait. Wish you all could come, too - it'll be the first real vacation alone with Ema and Papa. So weird.
We're having 20 - count it, 20 - people tomorrow night. The myriad of cousins and friends. If you don't hear from me by Sunday night, send out a search party.
Love you all! Let freedom reign!

If All the Gumdrops

The first real snowfall of the season! It's fun, going out. They attempted to clear the sidewalks in the complex, so in some places the snow is piled so high it almost clears the top of my boots. (Pro: I can take Gilbert without a bag)
Started midterms this week; it's kind of annoying, having to study at night, then being in school and studying for two and a half hours before the next test rolls around.
I don't know what to think; someone told me they overheard one of my friends saying something about me. I didn't want to know what, but I'm worried. They warned me not to get involved with her. I'm confused ...

One of those movies that stirs the senses until you can hardly contain yourself

I went to the Phantom of the Opera last night with BR and CW. The artistic aspect was breathtaking! The costumes were meticulously placed and Minnie Driver was excellent. Christine was good, but all she really had to do was look dazed, in love, and cry. Raoul was good, too, but the Opera Ghost drove me crazy. He is not supposed to be a character that could-have-been, if not for the half of his face that wasn't. He was supposed to be wholly and completely. And I found that he was emotional enough the scene where she first rips of his mask in the cave; like all that mattered was he say the lines of the song.
But it was a great film, I was hopping in my seat it caught so many important things.

By the way, I hope everyone makes sure that the time at the bottom of their blogs are correct before they publish their posts!!
