Succos

Another annual custom. This year I'm puting up all the decorations myself, since Tsiona is on sick leave with her injury. We've basically got the works - something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. I wrote in some shoeboxes the plethora of addresses our family has acquired over the past year, so everyone is with us regardless of scientific geography.

(Author's note: This by no means substitutes real life proof that you exist!!)

My Username

I've been asked what my name means. Well, Lela is a name a found in a book I like, and it also corresponds to my real name. Harbinger is some kind of omen, as though something's coming.

Tonight is the annual Yom Kippur, during which we fast and beg forgiveness. It's sometimes an ordeal, but hopefully I'll be able to acquire a different mindset.

hello!

I'm not exactly sure what this blog will be for, so just bear with me for now!

Today, one of my friends had a run-in with a teacher of ours who kept my friend in her office for two hours, trying to get my friend to see her way of thinking. Aside from inadvertently insulting my friend's family, the teacher expressed the reason certain schools in our community will not be invited to a "dinner party" later this year. It seems that one school's ideals are not in sync with ours, so they're automatically out. Another school hosts girls who "don't know any better" and will be sitting with good, religious girls at the same table and will be confusing these girls with things they don't know about.
It drives me crazy that they actually consider this little party of theirs to be promoting unification.
